Your Guest Experience

We are so excited to have you visit our wedding venue in League City, Tx.! Whether it is your first visit, or your 5th, we want to share some helpful information so that you have the best experience!

Historic Wedding Venue in Houston

Is Butler's Courtyard Indoors or Outdoors?

We are both! Our venue is an indoor/outdoor event facility. Each event decides how they would like to utilize the space during the planning process. If you are unsure and would like more information about dressing comfortably, please contact us here.

If the event you are attending is planning to be outdoors: Our Gazebo Wedding Location is Open Aired. There is no coverage overhead nor any steps taken to assist with wind/temperature. Most of our weddings do take place at the gazebo. We will move the ceremony to a more desirable location in inclement weather.

For the reception, seating could be indoors or outdoors. Most often there is unassigned seating in both areas. Seating is first come first serve per location (rest assured there is a seat for everyone, just not a guaranteed place indoors). We have a beautiful white pavilion where we have our outdoor tables. There are ceiling fans overhead for the warmer months. In colder months we do provide some propane heaters, however, they are not at every table and cannot be moved once they are in place. Keep in mind, we are still an outdoor venue. These amenities do not transform the outdoor pavilion into a temperature-controlled environment. Please dress accordingly for your comfort level per season. !

Can I bring my own alcohol?

Butler’s Courtyard does have a liquor License. This makes us similar to a restaurant or bar. No outside alcohol is permitted on site (including parking lot areas). If the event host has opted to serve alcohol, this will be provided by our TABC-certified bartender and will be limited to what the event host has specified for us to serve. Bar service could be a cash bar or open bar. Beverages are not passed, and the waitstaff does not take orders. Be prepared to show proper identification to our bartenders. If you do not have an ID, you will not be served. No one under the age of 21 will be served, even in the presence of their legal guardian. No shots will be served, and all drinks must be mixed (nothing “on the rocks” or “neat’). We have the right to refuse service to any person. Per TABC guidelines, if our bartenders or event coordinator feel a guest is intoxicated, additional alcoholic beverages will be refused, and water will be offered. Please respect our concern for your safety. We reserve the right to shut down the bar at any given point if our bar policies are not being honored.

In the event that a guest disregards our bar policy, the event coordinator will remind them of our policy and ask for the behavior to be remedied. If the problem persists, the guest will be asked to leave or assisted to leave by our included peace officers.
The bar will shut down, at minimum, 15 minutes prior to the end of the event.

Is there somewhere local I can stay?

Yes! We love South Shore Harbor Resort ! It’s possible a room block is already setup. Call the hotel at 281-334-1000 and provide the couples name to see if a room block is already in place.

If you would like a private stay, we recommend Cedar Oaks Inn Bed and Breakfast

Where do I park?

We have our very own parking lot! This is located off of 2nd street. When you turn onto Michigan, 2nd street will be your 2nd right (a paved road, not gravel). When you turn right, continue down 100 feet and the parking lot will be on your left.
Our parking lot is private parking. We do have police officers servicing most of our events/keeping an eye on our parking lot. If you need to leave your car overnight, you will not be towed. All we ask is that you leave it located in the parking lot rather than directly in front of our venue.

We do have parking directly in front of our brick building. This is a good place to park if you need front row access. This portion of our parking is gravel, so please keep that in mind for any handicap needs. However, we do have two bridges that cross over the gravel for wheelchair accessibility.
