Butler’s Courtyard isn’t just any backdrop; it’s a historic wedding venue that can transform to any vision. Rachel and Shaquille definitely chose the right atmosphere for their reception. They wanted somewhere their guests could dance the night away and that’s exactly what they did!
A Ceremony Filled with Joy
The day began with a heartfelt ceremony at the couple’s beloved church Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, a place that has been a part of their spiritual growth and now, their marital foundation. Amidst joyful tears and laughter, they exchanged vows that echoed through the hallowed halls, binding them forever.
A Lively Reception
Post-ceremony, guests were whisked away to Butler’s Courtyard, where a vibrant reception awaited. The open-air pavilion set the stage for an unforgettable evening infused with joy and merriment. DJ Ruben from Muzik Vibrations had everyone on the packed dance floor, his beats were just right and this crowd danced and danced. Glow wands were handed out that really enhanced the party vibe for this crowd.
Memorable Highlights:
- Food and Drink: Personalized signature cocktails from Bar 1909 added a unique twist to the festivities, reflecting the couple’s playful personalities. The couple chose Old Fashioneds and Mistletoe Margaritas in addition to an open beer and wine bar. The servers passed Hors d’oeuvres too. For dinner guests savored a delectable BBQ dinner from Red River BBQ, a local favorite, that lent a casual yet intimate touch to the evening.
- Floral Elegance: Laurel Events provided stunning floral arrangements that perfectly complemented the emerald green and white color palette.
- The Cake: Cakes by Jula delivered a breathtaking cake that not only looked stunning but tasted amazing, acting as a delicious centerpiece that encapsulated the wedding vibes.
- The Dress: Rachel was a vision in an elegant gown from Impressions Bridal, her look complete with an elegant updo and radiant smile that lit up the room.
- Mother-Daughter and Mother-Son Dances: Special dances between the bride and her mother, and the groom and his mother, added heartfelt moments to the celebration.

Not only did they have custom bar napkins with their initials and wedding date on them, they had stir sticks with the face of their cat. How cute is that?!? What a great way to include their furry baby on their special day. It was super fun for the guests too!

Surrounded by the historic charm of Butler’s Courtyard, their wedding was a true celebration of life, love, and the promise of a bright future together. Guests tossed dried lavender into the air as they made their grand exit, creating a confetti effect that is fun, smells awesome and is not at all harmful to the environment. What a fun way to end an awesome party!
